Discover Torre delle Stelle
Torre delle Stelle is a pretty seaside village on the eastern side of the Golfo degli Angeli, in southern Sardinia. Torre’s two beaches are called Cann’e Sisa and Genn’e Mari: both have shallow water, particularly suitable for children, fine white sand and crystal-clear water in shades of blue and emerald green.

Beaches of Torre

Cann’e Sisa beach. The beach of Cann’e Sisa is easily reached on foot (1 minute walk from the Villa). The beach is about 450 metres long. In the summer season, it is served by two kiosk-bars (offering the possibility of renting sunshades and deckchairs), a convenient free car park, and walkways for easy access to the beach. The water is crystal clear and the seabed is characterised by an initial sandy part, alternating with rocky areas: a mix that gives the sea extraordinary colours (highly recommended for diving enthusiasts!). Don’t miss the breathtaking sunsets of Cann’e Sisa, just a minute from home!
The posidonia
Depending on the days and tides, posidonia, an endemic marine plant typical of the Mediterranean Sea and protected under the Habitats Directive 92/43 EEC, can be found on some areas of the beach. As stated by the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA), the presence of posidonia is considered an excellent indicator of the quality of marine-coastal waters. From an ecological point of view, posidonia constitutes a habitat capable of hosting a great variety of species, representing an area of shelter, reproduction and nursery for various species of fish. It also contributes to the stabilisation of the seabed and the protection of the coastline from erosive phenomena.

Genn’e Mari beach. The other beautiful beach on the promontory is called Genn’e Mari (from the Sardinian Campidanese, ‘door to the sea’). It has a shallow seabed consisting of pebbles and white sand with golden hues. A particularly favoured destination for kite and wind surfing enthusiasts, when windswept. This beach is also equipped to offer services to bathers (with kiosks that rent sunshades and deckchairs). From the Villa, this second beach can be reached in just 7 minutes by car, with a convenient, large car park close to the beach.

Su Fenugu Tower

Built by the Aragonese presumably in 1578, the tower that gave its name to the village of Torre delle Stelle stands in Monte Fenugu. The construction (which is about 86 metres from the sea) was part of the defence system developed by the Spaniards to deal with pirates arriving from the sea. Given its privileged position, from Su Fenugu Tower it is possible to admire a breathtaking view of the entire Gulf of Cagliari, highly recommended at sunset! Today, the Tower is also the symbol in the coat of arms of the municipality of Maracalagonis, to which part of Torre delle Stelle territorially belongs.
